This comes on the heels of Josh Kendall (Beat Writer for the State Newspaper) reporting that Owner Bob McNair would be in attendance for Clowney’s Pro Day in Columbia. McNair had this to say of the Gamecock product

” (Clowney) is a remarkable player. He’s one of these players that’s really a once-in-every-10-years kind of physical specimen that comes along.”

The Texans are working hard to finish their evaluations on their prospects and getting to know Clowney on a more personal level. O’Brien has made it clear that the face to face interviews are important factors in the evaluation process. The organization has plenty of people who know about Clowney and now defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel and O’Brien get to meet with him off the football field.

Clowney in three seasons with the Gamecocks had 85 total tackles with 24 sacks and 47 tackles for loss. He also chipped in 9 forced fumbles with 7 pass deflections.
