Andre Brown Visiting the Texans

According to Pro Football Talk the Houston Texans are hosting free agent running back Andre Brown. The Texans are currently looking for depth behind starter Arian Foster and Brown could be that player.

Brown (6-0, 227 lbs.) was drafted by the New York Giants in the 4th round (129th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. Brown had dealt with injuries the majority of his career and it has caused him to bounce around teams. He has been with the Giants (2009, 2011-2013), Denver Broncos (2010), Indianapolis Colts (2010), Carolina Panthers (2010) and the Washington Redskins (2010).

He won a Super Bowl with the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI and was suspended the following year for 4 games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy with testing positive for Adderall use. Brown appealed the suspension and won the case which led to the league lifting his four game ban.

Brown broke his fibula late in the 2012 season which delayed him for the 2013 season. He came back in week 10 of the 2013 season and started 8 games where he rushed for 492 yards on 139 carries. He scored 3 touchdowns on the ground and chipped in 103 receiving yards.

For his career Brown has appeared in 19 games while starting 10, while rushing for 876 yards with 11 career touchdowns.
