Texans Lock Up Andre Brown on a 1-Year Deal

The Houston Texans have agreed to a one year deal with free agent running back Andre Brown. The deal is for $645k, the league minimum, which becomes a low risk deal for Brown.

He will instantly be the penciled in #2 running back behind Arian Foster, and could be a nice complimentary back for the upcoming season. Brown (6-0, 227 lbs.) was drafted by the New York Giants in the 4th round (129th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. Brown had dealt with injuries the majority of his career and it has caused him to bounce around teams.

A spot starter for the New York Giants, Brown had dealt with his own injuries slowing his career since entering the league in 2009. For his career Brown has appeared in 19 games while starting 10, while rushing for 876 yards with 11 career touchdowns.

He has been with the Giants (2009, 2011-2013), Denver Broncos (2010), Indianapolis Colts (2010), Carolina Panthers (2010) and the Washington Redskins (2010).
