Texans Work Out Three Runningbacks

The Houston Texans worked out three veteran running backs on Monday.

On Monday the Houston Texans worked out three free agent runningbacks in William Powell, Ronnie Brown and Brian Leonard. This comes as a small surprise despite the recent success of Jonathan Grimes and Alfred Blue early in the preseason and training camp with Arian Foster out.

Powell is from Kansas State and played for the Arizona Cardinals (2011-2012) with 60 career rushes and 217 rushing yards in his NFL stint.

Brown was a first round pick (2nd overall) out of Auburn by the Miami Dolphins and spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Diego Chargers. He has 5,328 career rushing yards and 38 touchdowns and 1,922 career receiving yards and one Pro Bowl appearance in 2008.

Leonard has played runningback, fullback and is considered an above average special teams player. Originally from Rutgers, he was a second round pick by the St.Louis Rams in 2007 and he spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Leonard has 828 career rushing yards and 993 receiving yards in 7 NFL seasons.
