Texans Not Satisfied at Receiver

Juaquin Iglesias

Although it may seem as if the Houston Texans are loaded at wide receiver, with Pro Bowler and first team NFL All-Pro Andre Johnson, as well as touchdown maker Kevin Walter and Andre Davis, Houston is still looking for more talent. Find out which collegiate star they took a keen interest in at the Senior Bowl.

The most productive receiver in Saturday night's Senior Bowl was Oklahoma wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias. Iglesias caught six passes for 90 yards, including a 41-yard strike. The Sooners best receiver throughout the season had a very good week of practice in Mobile, and he may have had an advantage as he worked out with a couple of the North team quarterbacks.

"I actually train with Graham Harrell and Rhett (Bomar)," Iglesias told Scout.com in an exclusive interview. "I think it's helped me a little bit, get the timing down but you can't get that much by just being out here for a couple days."

Iglesias finished his senior season on the country's most explosive offense with 74 catches for 1150 yards and 10 touchdowns. The speedy, 6'0", 204 lb. Texas native has a modest personality and is far from a "chest-thumper," despite having that type of ability.

"My first day out here I was a little rocky just trying to make sure I did the right plays, but I think I moved past that," Iglesias said following a North team practice. "Today I just tried to put my best foot forward with all the coaches and being out here for the last day I'm just trying to get better and better."

When asked about who the best corner he lined up against in practice was, Iglesias quickly replied, "Victor (Macho) Harris, he's a good player." When lined up against Harris, Iglesias more than held his own, making several plays all week long.

Juaquin is currently projected to be a late first-day pick, as he has reportedly run a 4.4 40-yard dash. If the Texans select the Texas native, they could have yet another weapon on the league's third-ranked offense.
