Now that most teams have played at least three preseason games, it's time to give our final preseason edition of the Battle Red Nation Rankings.
|
1. New England Patriots- Previous ranking: (1)
If Brady's shoulder injury isn't severe, the Pats have an unstoppable offense.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. San Diego Chargers- Previous ranking: (3)
Chargers appear to be about as solid as anyone. Rivers will earn his money again this year, Vincent Jackson could break out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. New York Giants- Previous ranking: (5)
Defensive line is amongst the best in the game, but they need a wide receiver to step up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Green Bay Packers- Previous ranking: (21)
I'm a believer in Aaron Rodgers and all of those offensive weapons. B.J. Raji will help with the 3-4 transition.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Tennessee Titans- Previous ranking: (10)
If Nate Washington is okay, the Titans will finally have their big play threat on the outside. That's the only thing that's missing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Pittsburgh Steelers- Previous ranking: (4)
Offensive line will be a major concern. If Ben goes down, they may not make the playoffs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Philadelphia Eagles- Previous ranking: (2)
Ultra talented, but lots of distractions and injuries.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Baltimore Ravens- Previous ranking: (16)
Defense is still excellent, need a receiver to step up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Indianapolis Colts- Previous ranking: (7)
If Bob Sanders can stay (get) healthy, they can compete with anyone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10. New Orleans Saints- Previous ranking: (11)
Offense is spectacular, defense should be good enough to get them a home playoff game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11. Minnesota Vikings- Previous ranking: (6)
Lots of pressure on Favre to take this team to the promised land. Expect a slow start offensively.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12. Houston Texans- Previous ranking: (8)
Defensive line must put pressure on the passer being that the secondary could be a major weakness.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13. Buffalo Bills- Previous ranking: (13)
Trent Edwards can play and he has weapons. Now can he stay healthy?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14. Atlanta Falcons- Previous ranking: (17)
Matt Ryan is special, not so sure about the defense.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15. Seattle Seahawks- Previous ranking (12)
Lots of offensive line issues, but a healthy Hasselbeck can win a lot of games. How long will he stay healthy?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
16. Dallas Cowboys- Previous ranking: (19)
If they stick to a run the ball, play good defense philosophy, they can win plenty of games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
17. Chicago Bears- Previous ranking: (9)
Quarterback is finally not a problem. Unfortunately the defense is more bark than bite.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18. Carolina Panthers- Previous ranking: (14)
The hitched their wagons to the wrong quarterback.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
19. Cincinnati Bengals- Previous ranking: (15)
Lots of talent if Palmer can stay healthy. Defense is better than most think.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20.Arizona Cardinals- Previous ranking: (18)
Super Bowl hangover coming to town near you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
21. New York Jets- Previous ranking: (23)
Good offensive line, excellent running game. Only question will be with the rookie quarterback.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22. Kansas City Chiefs- Previous ranking: (22)
Larry Johnson may have a bounce back season. Offensive line is still bad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
23. Miami Dolphins- Previous ranking: (20)
Just a matter of time until they switch to Chad Henne.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24. Oakland Raiders- Previous ranking: (25)
A good amount of talent around him if Jamarcus Russell can get the job done.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
25. Washington Redskins- Previous ranking: (28)
Jason Campbell isn't terrible, the defensive line is pretty good. They just play in the wrong division.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
26. Jacksonville Jaguars- Previous ranking: (24)
Worst set of quarterbacks in the NFL in terms of depth. Jones-Drew will win them a few games at least.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
27. San Francisco 49ers- Previous ranking: (30)
Lots of pretty good individual pieces, not a very good team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
28. Cleveland Browns- Previous ranking: (26)
Shaun Rogers and Joe Thomas are good. Can't say much for the rest of the team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
29. Detroit Lions- Previous ranking: (29)
Lots of talent at the skill positions. Not a lot of talent in up front on both sides of the ball.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Previous ranking: (27)
Bucs will struggle to win one or two games with their schedule.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31. St. Louis Rams- Previous ranking: (32)
Steven Jackson and O.J. Atogwe are great. Everything else isn't.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
32. Denver Broncos- Previous ranking: (31)
Quite possibly the worst offseason in the history of the NFL.
