Let's see how our keys to the game played out in the Texans 28-21 victory over the Detroit Lions.

Five most important things for the Texans:

1. Get started early.
The Texans scored three touchdowns on their first three possessions for the first time in team history, and the Reliant Stadium crowd was in it.

2. Cover Calvin Johnson.
Johnson caught only two passes, but those two passes totaled 154 yards and a touchdown.

3. Time to fix the red zone offense.
The Texans scored touchdowns on four out of their five trips.

4. Take care of the football.
Houston only turned the ball over one time Sunday which was certainly an improvement.

5. See the good Schaub. Matt Schaub had a nice game, completing 26 of 31 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns. He finished with a quarterback rating of 124.1.

What to look for:

1. Matt Schaub’s QB rating over 100.
Schaub was sharp and his rating was 124.1.

2. Big game for Steve Slaton. Slaton led the Texans with 17 rushes for 80 yards and a touchdown.

3. Texans will force three turnovers.
Actually the Texans didn’t force any turnovers.

4. Big game for Ernie. The dynamic Lions linebacker finished with 10 tackles.

5. Look for three sacks by the Texans. Houston recorded just two sacks, one by linebacker Zac Diles and one by defensive tackle Tim Bulman.
