According to Fox 26's Mark Berman, the Houston Texans and safety Danieal Manning have hit a road block in the team's request for the veteran to take a pay cut. The talks according to Manning's agent Russel Hicks said the talks with the front office have been "very amicable" regarding the possible pay cut.

Russel Hicks, Manning's agent had this to say about the situation:

"He would be willing to take a pay cut,but not the amount they've asked him to take. He's willing to do something to take one for the team and help them save some cap space. The numbers, where we are and where they are, there's just a difference right now.Hopefully, we can meet at some middle ground and move forward. They said they did not want him to leave. They made that more than clear they need to save some money cap-wise and they're looking at him."

The Texans are looking to drop his 6 million dollar cap number, where Manning is guaranteed $1.5 million for the upcoming season. He is currently on the last year of his contract with the Texans. Manning will have to make a decision soon on what he needs to do and if he is willing to lake less money.

The team has added two free agent safeties during the off-season with Kendrick Lewis and Chris Clemons.
