According to Michael Silver the Houston Texans have been named as a potential landing spot for free agent tight end Brandon Pettigrew. The former Detroit Lions tight end has been with the team since 2009 when the Lions drafted him in the 1st round (20th overall) of the 2009 NFL draft.
Pettigrew is coming off career lows in 2013 for the first time since his rookie season, and posted 41 receptions for 416 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2013.
He has appeared in 71 games for the Lions and has 284 receptions for 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns for his career.
The Tyler, Texas native attended Oklahoma State University.
The Texans currently have three tight ends under contract with Ryan Griffin, Phillip Supernaw and Zach Potter after recently releasing long time starter Garret Graham is currently a free agent and still in discussions on possibly returning to the team.
