The Houston Texans and Head Coach Bill O’Brien have started their pro day tour leading up to the NFL draft and started in Pittsburgh. O’Brien was joined by new quarterbacks coach George Godsey to evaluate 10 players who took place in the Panthers Pro Day. O’Brien was only one of two head coach in attendance along with Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly also there was three offensive coordinators and four quarterback coaches in attendance.
The headline players were defensive lineman Aaron Donald, wide receiver Devin Street and quarterback Tom Savage. The Texans had a formal interview with Donald at the NFL combine, and O’Brien meet with Savage after his workout that consisted with over 100 scripted passes. O’Brien even instructed Savage to make some throws he wanted to see after his workout for the 28 teams in attendance. Reports are that Savage threw well and showed impressive arm strength and accuracy in the cold conditions (Kevin Weidl, ESPN)
Street improved his 40 time to a 4.46 and Donald only participated in positional drills and did not run the 40 yard dash.
